The Council of Ministers has decided to proceed with the sale of a controlling stake in Alitalia from the Ministry of 'Economic Affairs, which currently holds 49.9% stake in the company through a competitive procedure to direct negotiations, aimed at potential buyers . After the Council of Ministers of the Council Presidency Undersecretary Enrico Letta said that the Treasury would fall below the 30% shareholding in Alitalia, but not withdraw from the company.
