The management board of Audi (Volkswagen group) has approved a plan of investments for the period 2006-2011 to 11.8 billion euros, of which 8.4 billion for the development of new cars, compared with 10.8 billion of 2005-2010. The manufacturer has stated that the board has also given the green light to a plan to increase the number of models from the current 22 to 40 by 2015. The investments in 2006 amounted to 1.37 billion and for 2007 to 1,58 billion.
